Rossi Construction, Inc. Issues Guide to Tampa Media Rooms

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) – Oct. 24, 2013 – TAMPA, Fla.

In response to the fall remodeling boom, and a large batch of “which remodeling project is the best project for us” questions, Rossi Construction, Inc. issued a guide to adding a Tampa media room as both their suggestion and a small acknowledgment of their own personal preference.

The experts from Rossi Construction, Inc. decided that a guide to Tampa media rooms would be the best match for folks considering remodeling projects, because the project differs from a typical Tampa bathroom remodel.  The Tampa media room is all about making the family a place to escape from the stress of the world, where they can enjoy time together without the distractions of the real world.

The guide to the proper addition of Tampa media rooms covered all of the basics required to make a Tampa media room into an island apart from the rest of the world.

Jason Rossi explained that a Tampa media room should typically be rectangular, with a flat ceiling that is no higher than 12’.  Rooms that are square can bounce the sound waves in an uneven pattern.  It is important that the media room in an enclosed space.

The guide also covered the topic standing waves, a phenomenon that occurs with parallel walls that are not fitted with any type of sound absorbing material, and it causes sound waves to be canceled out when they bounce back the way they came.

Beyond logistics of room placement, the experts from Rossi Construction, Inc. provided an overview of preparation required for the walls to optimize sound.  The best way to properly optimize the walls in a Tampa media room for sound is to cover the walls in open cell polyurethane acoustic foam panels, or fiberglass panels that are at least 2” thick.  Understanding the concept of floor to ceiling acoustic walls is not appealing, it was explained that floor to ceiling curtains can accomplish the same goal in a Tampa media room.

Rossi Construction, Inc. indicated the guide will have a follow-up with additional tips and tricks to help in the addition of a Tampa media room.

Tampa Home Remodeling – Avoiding Conventional Wisdom

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) – Oct. 10, 2013 – TAMPA, Fla. — Conventional wisdom in home remodeling is often too much convention and not enough wisdom.  The home remodeling specialists at Rossi Construction, Inc. explain that each year, someone publishes a conventional guide to Tampa remodeling projects.  The list is always composed of the best and/or worst return on your remodeling investment (ROI).  Remodel a Tampa bathroom.  Replace siding.  Do not add a swimming pool.  Appeal to the masses.  All of it is tried and true advice, the kind one expects from a parent, but the specialists from Rossi Construction, Inc. explain that Tampa remodeling projects should be about livability before there is ever discussion of return on investment (ROI).

The specialists from Rossi Construction, Inc. passionately support the concept that a better quality of life must be first, ROI needs to be considered a bonus and not the primary goal.

In their challenge against conventional thinking, Rossi Construction, Inc. explained that a family must determine if a project makes sense for their lifestyle.  Cost effective examples for improving livability include;

  • Forgoing some kitchen cabinets in exchange for a walk-in pantry.
  • Adding an interesting spa-like shower that meets ADA guidelines.
  • Spending more time planning the Tampa remodeling project, and less time fixing the project.
  • Spending money on the best products and materials that fit a budget, rather than buying things outside of your means.  This includes concepts like temporarily choosing to go with a countertop that is not granite, instead choosing a more affordable option.

The professionals from Rossi Construction, Inc. understand that most of these ideas will never make it to a list of “best return on investment for Tampa remodeling projects,” but the ideas will allow real people to save real cash.

Smart Tampa Remodeling Projects

A soft economy has prompted homeowners to take a look at their existing footprint.  Even as the housing market conditions improve in some regions, making things a little brighter, many homeowners still choose to stay put and update their current home instead of selling at lower prices.

The numbers prove it.  Tampa remodeling hit a five-year in 2012, and it has carried over into the majority of 2013.  In many cases, the decision to execute a Tampa remodeling project is often reflective of the times, but the Tampa remodeling trend detailed below is here to stay:

Tampa remodeling projects can create smarter kitchens!

The use of the word smarter does not mean that the kitchen will prepare your bacon and eggs, but it can mean that you are in and out of there in less time.  The peak of the construction surge featured hot-button words like “granite,” “stainless steel,” “cabinet suites” and many more terms.  It is not that people now want lower quality kitchens, they are just moving toward Tampa remodeling projects providing more customization.  Some put cash into walk-in-pantries, while others choose to have their Tampa remodeling project cover the “guts” of parts of the kitchen.  They are giving up dedicated food preparation area in favor of larger eating areas, the kinds of room that can double as a family room.  They are opting for open shelving and islands that do a heavy lifting, with loads of extra storage.  Kitchens are and will continue to look less like a work area and more like an extension of the living area.

Is It The Right Time For a Tampa Remodeling Project?

In many places around the country, temperate weather is the right time for remodeling.  It is true that sunny days and warm weather are beneficial when it comes to working outside, but there is more to consider when planning Tampa remodeling projects than the temperature.  In many cases, knowing when to remodel is likely to save you money as well as time during your Tampa remodeling project; while spring and summer may be the most popular seasons for home improvement, the best time to remodel is when your hassle and budget will be at a minimum.

Know when it is the right time for a Tampa remodeling project:  Understanding supply and demand.

The battle between supply and demand is a constant, and is one of the main factors in how much we all pay for all of our favorite things.  Just as Christmas candy is a steal on December 26th, the price of materials like cement; paint and lumber fluctuates depending on the time of the year and the demand for specific materials.  The best time for your Tampa remodeling project is not always when the prices of materials is lowest, but by carefully planning your Tampa remodeling project well in advance, you may be able to acquire the materials when they are cheapest and simply store them until it is time for your Tampa remodeling project.  Another factor to consider in the supply and demand chain is the busy season for contractors, because it may be better to discuss approaching your project at a time when our schedule is open.

Contractors’ can better handle your Tampa remodeling projects when their schedules are clear.

Have you ever been to a counter service restaurant during the lunch rush?  Perhaps you sat through the dreaded traffic returning to Tampa in the evening?  If so, you are aware that there are certain times during the day when things seem to work better.  Knowing when to conduct your Tampa remodeling project is not about the total cost of materials, but also availability of a qualified Tampa general contractor.  Your Tampa general contractor is more likely to do a better job when he is handling fewer Tampa remodeling projects, particularly when he has far fewer similar Tampa remodeling projects on his mind.  Additionally, when every Tampa general contractor is putting in orders for kitchen cabinets, there is a greater chance for delays or aggravation.

Is It Time For A Media Room?

If you are thinking about adding a media room, check these tips and ideas from Rossi Construction, Inc. meant to optimize your home cinema fun.

In an ideal world, all of us would have a big screen and a fantastic surround sound system for their media room.  If a big screen television is not in the cards, try to make the screen the central focus of the room.

Try to create classic cinema drama!

As you develop the ambiance of your home theater, you will want to aim for a feel that re-creates a different time.  Heavy curtains that you can tie-back are a wonderful way to give the feel of an actual theater, while not detracting from the design of your home.

Reduce extraneous sources of light.

In addition to using curtains to create the feel of an old theater, similar heavy curtains can be used to block light from outdoors and to frame the large screen.  Painting the ceiling a dark blue can also help mute light which may detract from image quality.

Make it nighttime all the time, but do not skimp on the comfy seats.

To aid the overall viewing experience, aim for a “nighttime all the time” feel by adding dark colored seats and by painting the walls an equally dark color.  In your search for warm chocolate paint and matching loungers, do not forget to go after functionality in all of the seating you purchase.

I love these ideas, but I am really not sure where I can add a home theater!

If the concept of a home theater appeals to you, but you are worried that you lack the space, you can always consider converting a garage to create the media room of your dreams.

If it is time to either convert a room or add a room to house your home theater, Rossi Construction, Inc. is ready to schedule a consultation.  You can reach us at 813.436.0177.
